Snoring is a hoarse sound produced when air streams pass relaxed tissues in the throat, making the tissues vibrate. Snoring is very annoying and quite normal. Virtually everybody snores every now and then, but quite a number snore more often.
It is normal to snore once in a while but when it becomes a habit, it becomes a problem. And requires immediate attention.
I wonder how couples keep up at night with their spouses that snore. No offense, I personally despise snoring so that I can never sleep in the same room with someone that snores.
Nobody snores intentionally or enjoys snoring. It happens just like every other illness. Snoring can be caused by sleeping posture, drinking of alcohol close to bedtime, obstructive sleep apnea (blocked airways), obesity, sleep deprivation, and issue with mouth, nose, or throat structure.

1. Pineapples, bananas, and oranges
One major cause of snoring is sleep deprivation or inadequate sleep. Pineapples, bananas, and oranges contain melatonin which is responsible for adequate sleep. Consuming pineapples, bananas, oranges, and other melatonin containing foods before you sleep, increases the release of your melatonin hormones and makes you sleep adequately; thereby, prevents snoring.
2. Garlic, onion, and horseradish
These spices prevent drying of the nose and clogging; therefore, remedy snoring. You could either chew it before going to bed or add it to your dinner. It is attested that these spies also decrease tonsils’ inflammation and prevent obstructive sleep apnea.
3. Ginger and honey tea
Ginger is richly medicinal. It cures virtually any illness–from stomach upset, obesity, heart problems, to common cold and cough. Ginger is an anti-inflammatory and antibacterial agent that increases the secretion of saliva, which smoothens the throat and prevents snoring. Drinking ginger and honey tea twice a day are enough to tackle snoring.
4. Extra virgin olive oil
Aside from its gargantuan importance or benefits to the heart, extra virgin olive oil can also be sipped before going to bed to smoothen up airways, prevent throat congestion, and provide relief from snoring.
You can’t tackle snoring by just consuming the aforementioned foods. You should also try as much as possible to abstain from what causes it. Prevention is better than cure, right?
