Laycon becomes a chief in Yoruba land


The winner of BBNaija season 5 lockdown edition, Lekan Agbeleshe popularly known as Laycon has bagged a chieftaincy title.

He received the honour of a traditional chief on Sunday from the Onipokia of Ipokia, Oba Yisa Adesola Olaniyan, at the 2021 Opo Day celebration, according to online reports.

During the event which took place at the District High School, Ipokia, the Onipokia said Laycon as an indigene of Ipokia deserved the title of Akeweje. He further described Laycon as a good ambassador to Ipokia and a positive inspiration to all Nigerian youths.

Recall that the 27-year-old BBNaija winner and rapper had a good year last year as managed to beat top singers, Davido and Wizkid to top the Nigerian songs trending on Africa Charts.

His song titled ‘Hip-hop’ made number one and the remix of DJ Neptune and Joeboy’s song ‘Nobody’ in which he was featured made number two on the chart.
