The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) has suspend the 7 months old strike conditionally. The strike which started mid March 2020 has been called off.
They however promised to resume the strike if the Federal Government go against their agreed signed Memorandum of Action.
They also warned Vice Chancellors against act of impunity, nepotism antithetical to university culture.
Both ASUU and the Federal Government had a meeting on Thursday 15 October 2020, the meeting which lasted for over 5 hours is over and the both parties have reached an agreement. They have signed the agreement and exchanged documents.
By implication this means any moment from now, ASUU will meet with NEC to officially call off the strike. Drumhour will also be the first to inform you!
Meanwhile, students who staged the venue for protest has left the venue expecting ASUU to make the announcement soon!
